red pimple-like bumps on tip of penis

About a month ago, my husband got kind of like a rash that went all the way around the tip on the skin of his penis. We did not have sex or do anything for about 2 weeks. When he noticed the rash, we had sex the next day I believe and it went away.  Then, just yesterday, early in the day my husband noticed two small red pimple-like pumps on tip of penis; they are both near each other.  Later in the day he masturbated so that he can see if it goes away.  Sure enough, we noticed the pimples became very small, and seems to be going away now.  We haven't had sex or did anything for about 2 weeks once again. He is not circumcised; could it just be from irritation, or going a while without any kind of sexual intercourse, etc? Or could this be a form of herpes?  He said there was a slight burning sensation when he urinated yesterday, and a little itching toward the tip part of the penis. Both of us were tested almost a year ago and should still be both clean, with no STDs (unless he cheated on me - hopefully NOT).  Please help and let me know what you think, since it's too late to go see a doctor now.  The bumps are almost gone. Thanks!

You can google all of that for more info :)

He really needs to see his provider for a proper work up and any testing that they feel needs done.

I can tell you one thing - masturbating over active herpes lesions would not make them get smaller !

Thanks for your quick response. So with what I described, do you think it would lean more toward herpes or balantitis/fungal infection? Where would the fungal infection come into place, when it doesn't look like any kind of fungus, etc. ? Being that the red tiny bumps appeared on tip of penis and went away completely 2-3 days later, would there still be a chance that it's herpes? Don't herpes breakouts last 2 weeks?

If he still has the rash, he should go to be seen.  Could be anything from balantitis to a fungal infection.

Just be sure you both were tested for herpes when you were tested - it isn't a part of routine std testing most clinics.
