False Negative?

Is 7-1/2 weeks long enough after exposure, to get accurate results from the Herpes 1&2-specific Ab, IgG test?  My results were: 2.42 for HSV-1 and <0.91 for HSV-2,

It's been 5 months, now and I just got results from a Herpes 2 IgG ELISA Test, and it was a "low" positive of 1.43.

If I am positive now, wouldn't the first test at least shown me as equivocal, instead of negative?

I have read that the Herpes 2 IgG ELISA Test can be inaccurate if you are positive for HSV-1, so i just took an Herpes 1&2 IgG Immunoblot Test today, waiting on results.  just looking for advise until then...

If I had positive result of 2.0 for hsv2, can this be a false positive? I read if its under 3.5 it could be.

But in you opinion, Do you think I got true results after my first test which was 71/2 weeks later?

With a result of 1.43, I'd get a retest for hsv2.  Its good you did - its likely to be a false positive.
