If I am asymptomatic with hs2, can I catch partners hsv strand too?

I believe I am asyptomatic. I have never seen and outbreak, but I'm unsure if I have them inside. My gyno looked once and said she saw no sign of outbreak or scarring.

I dated a guy who has had hsv2 since birth and he preformed oral on me. And bear with me here, but I may have just answered half of my question. I still see no sign of out break, but after we madeout, and the a few days later on the back of my tounge near my throat I think I had an outbreak.

I've had a few since, for the most part I think; unlike the first outbreak, I see just one at a time. There may be one other time I've had a few at once. I've never thought to get it cultured, but I will next time I see them.

So my question is, could he have infected me with his strand orally?

Secondly, if do actually have them on the inside, would they hurt? I can't find any information about that online. It mostly just pulls up basic facts about herpes. I've had an odor and I can't seem to what it is. Maybe weeping sores? Doctor gave a visual exam, no testing, and he said I checked out for bv. He seemed bothered so I didn't push for cultures. I keep coming back with uti tests positive for leucocytes (sp?) and there was a culture done on that, but they said it was just probably on my skin or something. I think it didn't grow or something. I digress, sometimes the odor smells like amonia, other times it is yeasty. Not to be weird or anything, but I used to have kind of a nice odor, and since shorty after the herpes it changed.

I should also mention I haven't had periods since 2013. I know it's unrelated to herpes, but do you think since I don't have that to clean me out, that may be the cause of my odor issues?

And instead of making a third post, what's the deal with herpes and tanning beds?

Sorry for such a long post. I'll keep it shorter next time.

Hi, how do you know hes had it from birth? He contracted it from his mother during the birthing process? I say this because hsv2 is only considered sexually transmitted other than at birth from the mother.
1. If he has hsv2 oral which i doubt then it can be passed from kissing and oral sex but since oral hsv2 rarely breaks out at the mouth and rarely sheds its not something to be concerned about with no lip sores at the time.

2. You would not get hsv2 inside your vagina from oral sex as the tongue does not have the virus on it but the lips would so any outbreak would be on the outside from his lips but again with no lip sores at the time your risk is close to zero.

3. if he has it genital you could contract it inside but again it would be more likely on the vagina lips as thats where most of the contact rubbing would be.

Those that have herpes inside the vagina would be from a recurrent outbreak not first time.
You need to confirm where he has hsv2.

I didn't get herpes from him, it was from a pervious sexual partner. Sorry I wasn't clear on that. But like I've said, I've never seen an outbreak on the outside. But I am having a terrible pain I haven't got check, I keep forgetting. It's usually off an on maybe goes on a couple minutes then don't have it for a while and then it will mysteriously happen again. But right after I posted it happened again and this time it's been going on for about an hour. I have a women's wellness appointment scheduled for Thurs day at 4. If it doesn't go away though I'll probably go to an er or something.
It's been a while since I talked to him,and we didn't really go into details about it except he got it from his mom.  we met because we found each other online and we had that in common.

I forgot to mention, one out break I did have was shortly after I used a toy on myself and then put it in my mouth. Idk if it's related.

So what you're saying is I shouldn't be worried I have hsv 2 orally because it would apear on lips and not my tounge?

I've been positive for a few years. Just never educated myself. Mainly abstained. But he said he had it.

My thought is maybe I do have inner outbreaks I can't see (I've looked as far in as I could. And I feel bumps, but that may be normal, I remember it being a little like that before.) and maybe he transfered it to me that way if he didn't have it orally. They were pretty painful too.

Do you know if it's possible to catch someone else's herpes on top of your own? Or start having outbreaks on the outside from having sex with a partner with hsv?

Also, dumb question maybe, but just because I have hsv vaginally, does it mean I have it analy too?

I'm having it retested Thursday. I was also positive on the other test a couple months later on a separate screening. I just want to be sure I really have it.

You dont need retesting as that last test would surely confirm it.

Exactly what tests did you have and what were the results?

I didn't know anything about the tests at the time or any clue I had herpes, so my doctor chose the igg test the first time. Then I found out he didn't test for syphilis so I went back for that and I guess he chose the igg for the second one since I wasnt having outbreaks he wanted to be sure.

I went in because I had this dibilitating stomach pain and all I wanted to do was lay on my tummy and put pressure on the pain. Hungry but couldn't force myself to eat, not even broth. We thought ulcer but rests were negative. A week later I decided to go back to be tested, I honestly had no clue, I just had this feeling to do it. Its such a shame too, I literally just had tested negative for everything 4 weeks before that.

Get the results in full, this is all very unclear. Was it an IgG for HSV2 or for HSV1/2 for example? Where are you?

Get the full results, this is all a bit vague.
