need help understanding results

I was just tested for herpes and I have no idea what my results mean. I was tested for both igg and igm, and the igg came back negative for both hsv1 and 2. The igm though said that both hsv 1 and 2 were <0.80 and were in the 0.0-0.80 range. In the comments section it said that my tests were being referred to Specialty Laboratories Inc. in Los Angeles. Should I be worried? I had the tests done 3 months after the questionable encounter, but could it mean that the igg just hasn't kicked in yet?

no reason for more testing. you have negatives for hsv1 and hsv2. you've had no symptoms. you waited long enough. the odds that you really do have herpes are very low and not worth any more testing.

In most people igg would have been detectable.  IgM is a worthless test for herpes.  It corss reacts with so much stuff that one can not be sure with it.  In your case if you haven't had any symptoms I would say no need to retest.  My other advice would be if you wanted retest at 4 months.
