white spot

I have just discovered on the head of my penis two white spots. One on each side. These spots cause no discomfort of anyway (no itching, burning, tingling, redness around edge of bump, etc.) and it is not elevated or raised. It is just there. I am sexually active with a girlfriend. Also, I am a lifeguard and sit around in a wet tight suit all day and thought maybe that might have something to do with it. Sometimes, the spots are harder to see and somtimes are impossible to see  but then in some lights or conditions like getting out of my wetsuit they reappear in the exact same spot. This has been happening for about two weeks now. Not any other symptoms just a disappearing and reappearing white spot, with no elevation. Now i am becoming seriously anxious. Since the first one i have been anxious, and keep pretending to see more of these spots and later fail to relocate them.

thanks for warming my heart as i have the same situation, but it started to annoy me as i have it since April 2012, and it was the first time for me to have sex and me and my gf were having alot of sex in these days, and then i traveled and found that white spot on my penis which some times is very visible and some times i can hardly see it.

and i had sex again in May 2012 and i felt that it got more visible, I feel so afraid really because it took too long time and as i told u it was the first time to have sex and it was without protection and i feel so worried now!!!!!!!!

i tried to search for Dr' Handsfield's posts but couldn't find it as it is the first time for me to visit this site.

if u can kindly reply

thanks

Your best bet would be to go to a good dermatologist if you haven't already! You guys have to remember that just because you get something on your penis, it's not always an STD!!! The penis and vagina is like any other part of the body and you could get unexplained variants in the skin there but out psychy is when it involves the genitals, we figure it has to be and STD and it just isn't so! Read the various posts to Dr' Handsfield and Hook and look how many people get these bumps, lesions, white marks, pimples, etc and the Doctors assure them it is notand STD and when these people go to their physicians, they tell them the same thing. HPV isn't what you guys have either!! My suggestion is to ignore it and it will go away! I bet you that you are applying all sorts of creams and lotions and touching and pressing on this area and that my friend will give you more redness and may even make the lesions change shape and size! LEAVE IT ALONE!!! IT'S NOT AN STD!!!

I have the same problem.  Check my previous posts.  I saw a doctor who said it's not an STD of any kind.  I was worried about HPV too.  After searching this forum extensively, there really isn't any conclusive  diagnosis either.  They always say swollen glands, balantis, vitiligo, eczema, or some type of fungus.  It's pretty frustrating.  I have good hygene as it is, but I went ahead and switched soaps, take a shower in the morning and night now, and have been treating with hydrocortisone and lamisil for 5 days but have seen absolutely no change.  Actually, if anything, there is some increased redness, only slightly however, directly next to the primary white spot of concern.  I wish they would just go away, but it's been about 2 months and they've just become more visible.

I have come to that conclusion, but now i am scared about warts and HPV. and its not that they disappear, just some times more pronounced and noticeable.

You guys are being ridiculous. Herpes does not behave like this!!!  Your logic of these spots appearing then disappearing then returning isn't what herpes does!

Yeah, It's just really scary. And i dont want to go the doctor because i am afraid my parents will get it on their insurance bill or something.

I had the exact same thing last week, no difference, I would see them better at time then not at all. no discomfort or anything. I am now also on a quest to see if I have herpes...

Sounds like the spots you describe could be sebaceous glands, which are a normal part of genital anatomy.  However, the only way to get an accurate diagnosis would be to see a doctor.  I guess they could also be genital warts, but the fact that they keep "disappearing" leads me to believe that this is not the case.  Either way, get the spots checked out to ease your mind.
Best,
Em
