Co-Diovan for Hypertension and the liver

Hi,

I am almost 5 year after a very difficult Tx treatment,
I am SVR.

During last years I have slightly high blood-pressure, still I am trying to find the right meds to cope with that.

I would like to use this great forum to get feedback about the different meds, to learn fro, experience from others and even more important - to learn and confirm that any particular medicine will not hurt me taking in consideration out history with HCV.

Recently my doc told me to change meds from Diovan onto Co-Diovan,he did so because my BP is slightly higher then 140/90.

I would be pleased to learn advice and experience of other members here.

Thank you,
Jack

Dear Hector,

Thank you.

Yes I did biopsy, it was stage:2-3 and Grade:2-3,
while Fibrotest and Fibroscan said that I had stage 4 and grade 4.
But biopsy considered the gold standard then and probably also today.

It was like to re borned, treatment was extremely difficult, but really worth it.

Thank you for your answer.

I wish SVR for all of us.

Jack

Hi Jack.

What stage of liver disease did you have when you were cured? Did you have a biopsy done?

Unless you had cirrhosis in 5 years since SVR your liver should have healed itself if there was any fibrosis to begin with.
Your Hepatitis C is cured.
So you can take any drugs that any other person can take. There is no special precautions you need to take.

You are cured and are free to live like any other person your age with high blood pressure. That is why we all want to be cured. To move on with life and other challenges.

Congratulations on SVR.
