It is important that you keep following up with your doctor.  I had mild dysplasia and right away I was sent to a specialist.  I opted to get the abnormal tissue removed because it was a very small area and would not interfere with my future in carrying children.  Proof being I now have a very healthy son.  It is not a hugely invasive procedure but it is a choice you will have to make with your doctor.  What was best for me may not be best for you.  But the most important thing to do is keep following up with your doctor.

HPV is really common... but if it's causing an abnormal pap it's usually transfered sexually...

Just follow up with your gyno. There is nothing to be scared about. Hpv is extremely common and as long as you follow up with your gyno you will be fine.  No worries! It is a fact of life. Visit ashastd.org for more info.
