Do HPV warts recur like HSV?

I believe my ex has given me what appears to be HPV warts. They are small and hard to see. Mostly noticeable by touch. I've seen some things say that HPV warts are with you for life, is this true? Some forums juxtapose them to herpes. I thought that HPV warts can clear on its own and never occur again? Or, is that thought wrong and they do in fact recur like herpes?

The virus never leaves the body. Go see your GYN and get tested for HPV. Have the warts frozen off. Get one biopsied.

I had an abnormal pap test at 19, no symptoms.  I got a colposcopy, everything was normal.  At 23, I had another abnormal pap, this time with warts.  I had them removed in the summer of 2010, no occurrences since and normal pap tests since 2009.  In fact I just had my pap done in November and it was clear.  I would suggest you go to the doctor to get a more detailed account of what exactly your situation is.  Good luck to you!
