Genital Wart transmission

So, in a weak moment I had unprotected sex with a guy who has genital warts and of course HPV. So I understand that I probably already have HPV but, now...will I develop genital warts after one exposure? He did not have any symptoms or active genital warts during the time of sex.
How likely is it that I will develop genital warts?
and
What test can I take to see if I got it?
It was a bad move and now I'm sort of freaked out that I'm going to get crazy outbreaks.

It's difficult to say because if the virus has gone dormant in his system, he would no longer be contagious. But if you did contract the virus from him, chances are you will not develop symptoms. Almost everyone acquires a genital hpv infection in their lifetime, but very few people ever actually experience symptoms or complications from the virus. There is an hpv test but women under 30 are not usually tested because it is assumed they will indeed have an active infection. Also, the test will return a negative result for an hpv infection which has gone dormant in the individual's system.

There is not test to see if you have it. You are only diagnosed if symptoms develop. It doesn't matter if he had active symptoms, you can still catch it.
