Genital Warts?

Doc, After looking on the internet a bit, I'm slightly concerned about some bumps on the shaft on my penis. These bumps are close to the base of my penis, on top of the shaft, acctually in the "brown ring" that I think is from my circumsisian. They are not hard, and have been there so long that I can't even remember when they first appeared. I've read about HPV and genital warts, but due to the fact that these haven't grown, shrunk, changed, or migrated in YEARS, I have my doubts that these warts. They don't itch, hurt, or secrete any pus or anything. I also have a small growth on the inside of my thigh, near the penis, which I definately beleive to be a skin tag, also has been there forever without change. I have numerous skin tags under my armpits, and had a cherry angioma removed (cryo'ed) from my chest when I was young. I'm sexually exclusive with my girlfriend, and was only MILDLY active with one girl before, which only included light kissing of genitals, I didn't penetrate her vagina with my tongue. My current girlfriend is on birth control and has had 2-3 pap smears over the past 3 years which haven't come back abnormal. Could these just be skin tags? They look somewhat similar to the picture located here: http://www.hpvfaq.com/Pictures/images/genital_warts_shaft_early.jpg

Thanks for the post.

Any replies here are from people who are not medical professionals.....

For a diagnosis, you will need to see a doctor.

I will try to share my understanding of HPV.

You said: "They don't itch, hurt, or secrete any pus or anything"
Warts don't usually display these symptoms.

In any case, if you are concerned, it is worth a doctor's visit for piece of mind. I recommend seeing a STD specialist or dermatologist.

Best of Luck

Alex

You said "(they) have been there so long that I can't even remember when they first appeared".
HPV infections are typically cleared in under 2 years. This leads me to thin that the bumps you are seeing are a normal part of your anatomy.
