HPV - Contagious

Ok, so I've read more on HPV, Genital Warts, and what I don't get is that I read the thread about not telling future partners. Say I contracted genital warts - first question, how is this tested at the doctors office? like I could have it with no warts showing right? ok - is this contagious, unprotected sex? Aren't I likely to give it to someone else then? I don't get that whole part.

or is this something treated and then done?

you need to be treated for genital warts.....yea you can have warst without an outbreak, but most people clear warts with in 6-24 months of diagnosis.....warts is contagious
