HPV "Cleared"...but...Anal Cancer?

Hello,

I am a 27 year old female.  8 years ago, I was diagnosed with a high risk HPV.  I had 3 LEEPS to clear all the cells. I have had 3 years of normal paps and being "HPV negative".

Now....with this partner, I attempted unprotected anal sex one time (before we knew he carried a high risk HPV).  He never penetrated, but I did bleed a bit and we stopped.  If I have been HPV negative on my cervix for these past 3 years, do you think I could still have HPV on my anus?  I'm very nervous as I have been experiencing some pain around my anus (yet, no bleeding, bumps, or any other "typical" symptoms".

Thanks for any insight.

I doubt it would have any relation to HPV, as your exposure was low, I think you can get an anal pap done to be sure

Yes, the anal incident was 8 years ago - only attempted that one time and never attempted it again.  The pain started about a month ago.

Thank you!!!

I don't think so because there was no penetration.

Was the anal sex incident 8 years ago or recent? And how recent after the incident was the pain?
