There are 2 sets of the virus. One is the high risk for cancer strains and they never produce genital warts. The other is the low risk for cancer strains and they always produce warts. People who have oral HPV may pass the virus to someone's genitals via oral sex but it isn't as common. The risk is definitely not zero risk because unsafe (and safe) genital sex is a better way to spread the virus. Since men cannot be tested for HPV except via a biopsy of a wart, the only thing you can do is hope she didn't pass you HPV. Sorry but there is no such thing as safe sex. Oral sex is safer sex. Oral sex with a condom on or a dental dam in the woman's mouth make it safe. Un-covered oral sex is not safe and never was....
The main risks are with oral sex with anus and cunnilingus. The other risk is when there are warts/lesions on the tounge.
