HPV related to the throat.

I was wondering if anyone had first hand symptoms with hpv in their throat/tonsils.  I am a huge hypochondriac and need to learn to stop using google! I have had a sore throat for about a month now thats been persisting since finals week.  I am not sure if its sinus/allergy related.  I know the odds for HPV in the throat are slim to none, but i haven't always had the best luck with odds.  If anyone could give me first hand experience with this it would be greatly appreciated!!

Lol,mooney754 I know the feeling man!!!  My fiance and I have been freaking out ever since I had an outbreak of genital warts.  Google is NOT good for something like this lol.  I have seen all over Google that oral HPV is common and causes cancer etc. etc.  We went to her Gyno today and the doctor looked at us like we were crazy to think we were gonna get throat cancer!!!  Also, I have always had like a raspy voice sometimes hard to swallow and now I am like freaking out about it!!! Thinking maybe I have had throat cancer for years or something!!  The only way to find out for sure is to go to the doctor man, it will put your mind at ease, and let you know what step is needed to be taken to get over this.

I had a sore throat real low, down near my larnyx, left side only. Went to an ENT Dr. and he removed a papilloma from my tonsil (wasn't hurting) and had a non-hpv, reactive atypia cell growth on my left vocal chord. It wasn't cancer or hpv but now I have to take prilosec and monitor it for the rest of my life.

Well, it's natural to freak out. After all, we just want to live a life free of crap like this don't we? Plus, if you're prone to worry (GAD, Hyprochondria) then it's a bazillion times crappier. I have General Anxiety Disorder also so I've been ******** bricks over the strange feeling and tightness in my larynx area. The timing couldn't be worse and I can't just magically know once I latch on to the idea. Can't help thinking I'm that statistic that's gonna get them in my throat too. I'm trying to laugh right now, but proabably won't be as successful in four hours when it's 3 am.  Aarrgh! For you, don't worry though. You fall into the 80-90% category of being cool. So you know deep down it's most likely behind you.  Let that knowledge flourish. Fear is ********.

I was diagnosed with GW a year and a half ago, and after 2 months of treatment I've been clear of them ever since which is why I'm skeptical of having them orally considering I've never really paid attention... but of course after reading horror stories online I think every little bump is HPV!

Good God, you sound just like me. I probably actually have HPV warts on my shaft (gonna get them biopsied next week I think), and so I am totally tripping balls on my sore throat that's persisted now for almost three weeks and it's not a regular sore throat as far as I can tell.  The only thing you can do is make an appointment with a doctor and start going through the steps to have your fears allayed while trying not to trip too much. It's the only way as a hypochondriac to deal. Get on it cause I feel your pain, literally. But it's the emotions pain that'll do you in.  I have no insurance too, so awesome.
