low risk is strains 6 and 11..high risk predominant strains are 16 and 18 with a slew of 30 others that are possible.....they do not genotype HPV to see which strain it is for high risk....would cost over $400 and ins.co's won't pay for this!U can only catch one strain of HPV from ur boyfriend. If u and he split u can catch another of the 30 diff strains out there from a new guy.....oh yes it stinks!i see u r 19..u should get the Gardisil shot..it will have no effect on the current strain u have now but will protect against future strains u may get.Just try 2 chill, get the colp and ur doc will advise u from there!
I don't have warts. I mean not that I know of, unless they're inside me or something. My bf doesn't have warts either. I have kind of an idea about what's going on. When I actually get to talk to my doctor I'm sure I'll be a lot more educated. But, what I was confused about was if I get the colpo and whatever other treatment might be needed, and the vaccine. Can I get it again from him??
what do u mean lowest strain?do u have low risk which is warts?or high risk which is on the cervix?colpo is staining cervix and pinching a tissue sample for biopsy to see what level the dysplasia is..and to see if removal is necessary..how wide of an area the cervix is affected.no u don't live with it forever but u can pick up new strains of it once u clear the old if u have new partner(s)..there is no test for high risk hpv for men...he only knows he has it if he gets warts......u need 2 educate urself....go to www.ashastd.org...or browse the archives on HPV transmission under the Experts forum which is the doctors responses!
