Thank you very much for your advise. Is it possible for the warts to go away on their own without treatment. if so it would probably take a really long time to go away on their own right?
1 - I think I read somewhere that the hpv strain that causes warts also can also cause abnormal pap test is that true?
2 - how do you know if your body has cleared up the HPV virus both in a man and a woman?
3 - being that her 1st pap test showed HPV which was over 5 years ago and now she goes every yr to get a check up. since the dr doesnt call back that means everything is ok. does this mean that she cleared up the infection? when do you know?
4 - how come im showing signs of wart now does this mean it became active from years ago and showing signs of hpv now? does it might i must of caught something recently. i heard most clear up the infection w/out even knowing they have it. but since both my wife and I and are and have shown symptoms before what does this mean? does this mean we are in that group that shows symptoms and it will not clear up on its own?
Thanks!!
although i would say that the percentage (for you to infect others when you have cleared up the virus) would be small so you dont have to worry too much
Also, having warts reoccur 1-2 weeks AFTER the first time you had warts is very very normal. I had my first wart recurrence just 1 week after my initial outbreak too. After the first 3-4 months, the interval between each outbreak will be way longer (once every 3-4 months in my case) and one day it should stop recurring.
1. According to wikipedia, it's possible for someone to have wart-causing HPV strain but never develop any symptom. It's likely the case with you and your wife (she never developed the wart but has the virus then she passed the virus to you)
2. nope. I would say she has both HPV strains (the one that cause abnormal pap smear and the one that cause genital wart, it's just that she might never develop genital wart from that particular strain)
3. Of course it would. If it grows in other area, means it has spread way too far. It's very common that warts grow back in the same area. You can't do anything, what you can do is to just keep getting treatment every time you develop new warts
4. Should be but nothing is 100%. According to doctors and medical journals, 90% of people clear up HPV infection within 2 years time, so it totally depend on your own antibody level. You might clear it up within 3 months to 24 months, sometimes even longer.
From your case, I believe there are two possibilities regarding your wife (sorry to say this):
1. She cheated on you then she got that new genital wart HPV strain then she passed it to you
2. She might had that genital wart-causing HPV strain since years ago but she never developed any wart (it's possible, just so you know)
*Keep in mind that you now have HPV, you will always have possibility to infect someone else with your virus, even AFTER you clear up the virus by your own antibody. Of course if you stay loyal to your wife then you dont have to worry too much about this.
