Dark patch on penis

Three years ago I was diagnosed with HPV I only had two small warts, they were treated and I was clear for two years. Recently, I noticed four more warts that I plan to treat soon, but I also have a dark patch of skin on my penis slightly above one of the very small warts (it is very hard to see the warts with out a magnifying glass and still hard to see with one). The patch is on the left side of my penis between my circumcision scar and the head of my penis. It first appeared after I masturbated in a way that I haven't before; I used pressure on my thumb to straighten out my penis while I masturbated. After that I had a little soreness but no scab or scar or anything too painful. A few days later I had the dark patch (it's just a little darker than the rest of my penis). I am worried that I may have herpes (the spots been there for three months untreated because i thought it would go away). Is this herpes or associated with HPV? Could it be a friction related thing? Please help..having a serious panic attack!

I know..just worried. Went to the doc today and was told that I didn't have HSV and that the dark spot was caused by friction. He looked at my bumps and said that they weren't warts, but set me up with an appointment with the dermatologist. I was told by three doctors that I didn't have HPV but two years ago I was told I did. I wasn't sure at that time because I couldn't really find pics that looked similar online. I guess I need to chill out. I'll find out for sure tomorrow though...

You're thinking too much about it! Every guy gets discoloration on his penis, including me! It happens. Just b/c you have a brown spot, doesn't mean you're gonna have another outbreak. The more you stress, the more likely you'll have an outbreak. Just get the four warts treated and get the doc to look at the brown spot for you. Chances are, it's absolutely nothing.
