No need to be scared. Just get educated and see another doctor. A dermatologist or your GYN again.
So was that swab a HPV test that women can get? If its negative, then you don't have HPV. Fleshy colored bumps could be herpes blisters, skin tags or genital warts. One can be biopsied.to know.
This virus does not cause swollen glands but if there are warts in your throat they may feel like it. Go see your PCP or dentist first for any oral issues. Oral sex can lead to oral HPV but it isn't as common as genital HPV.
BTW, all men claim to be clean. There is no HPV test for men except a biopsy of a wart. Most men are clueless about their HPV health so they assume the best. Condoms are great for STDs that travel in fluids. They are not that good for genital skin viruses like herpes or HPV. They don't cover the base of the penis or thighs or scrotum or butt. Any genital area can be infected. Know the facts....
