Newbie to HPV

I am a 40 year old female, who married the live of my life 17 years ago. Life was grand, and then smack....after 15 years of marriage, I find out that my husband was having an affair. I have been seep rated and divorced now for a total if 26 months. I met someone about 13 months ago, and from what I understand we are in a monogamist relationship. So, how did I get this? I feel dirty, ashamed, filthy....

Abnormal pap on 2/7
Follow up visit in 4/11- found out then that I was positive for HPV.
Colposcopy on 4/11- still waiting for results. Doctor did say that she was very UNDER IMPRESSED with my cervix. That's a good sign, right? However, I've experienced, low back pain, urge to urinate more often, chills. All these symptoms point the finger at cervical cancer. Ugh!!! I have had the absolute worst 2.5 years of my life. I lost my mother in December, 2011, husband leaves me 1/2014, and my grandmother just passed in 2/2014 now this!!! I wanted to celebrate my fictitious New Years ( was starting with a clean slate) and my birthday this April! : (. Any advise, suggestions and support would be greatly appreciated. And please if anyone has experienced any of the symptoms that I did, please share your story with me.
Thank you,

Well, if it means anything - some of us use this moment (diagnosis) to lead a healhier life. Meaning we quit cigs, reduce alcohol intake, exercise regularly, get more rest, reduce stress, eat healthy, take vitamins and supplements, etc. All in hopes that a strong immune system will fight the virus and make us not infectious. You should assume your current partner has what you have.

Where you got it will always be a mystery. The most recent sex partner is usually the person who infected you, but it could have been in you for years or decades. No need to feel dirty and ashamed. It is common cold of STDs and a large percentage of sexually active adults have been exposed to it. Good luck and happy birthday!
