Oral HPV

I was diagnosed with HPV in 1990's after an affair my husband had and every PAP after was found to be negative.  My doc says my body cleared it up. We were are now divorced.  I've had been intimate with a new boyfriend 2 years ago.  Last year it was Positive again, but not for the ones that cause cancer.  Now I have another boyfriend, who I've not had sexual intercourse with after 9 mos. of dating.  We have discussed this and I think there is some concern of the unknown.  If he were to perform oral sex on me, will he catch HPV?

I wouldn't be so sure it's rare.  I have things popping up in my mouth that no one seems to want to biopsy.  I had a genital infection 17 years ago, thought I was in the clear....surprise.  I'm not stupid.  I know what's in my mouth, but so many doctors have acted like it's a ridiculous idea, but I'm scared to death.  Lucky643, look at the bottom of your tongue and tell me...do you see any small bumps or little pieces of hanging skin?

Oral hpv is not very common.  I don't think this is much cause for concern.  He probably already has hpv anyway.  If he has had at least 3 partners, then he has at least 1 of the hpv's.  You should both get a full STD test to see what else might be lurking about.  HPV is very common, abt 90% of sexually active population has it.
