I was admitted into the hosp.for urinary retention.an obgyn came in and done a pap
A couple days later @ 10 pm that ob called to let me know I have epithelial cell abnormality, high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion encompassing, severe dysplasia.I went to her office to pick up a copy of my med.report.@the bottom of the list of all those problems I read cellular changes associated w herpes simplex virus. If I'm positive for herpes why wouldn't she have told me that as well?I ask because I have had no blister outbreaks or anything like it as far as I know!!!I have noy yet been back to see the ob since seeing her in the hosp.and she only done a simple pap.so is this really possible???the night she called she told me she wanted me in there right away a day or two later.but I never went.can someone please help me sort this out?everyday of my life I'm in pain in the pelvic area.always feels very inflamed.my uterus was enlarged when she done the pap,I lost my husband this time last year.so I'm not having sex.but when my husband and I were having sex last year it always was very painful,I sometimes get a foul odered discharge.are any og these symptoms similar to herpes at all?I appreciate any help I can get.I cannot afford a gyno appt.@ this time.all of this happened in the beginning of Oct.
If you don't mind me asking, how long did you have hpv before you got an abnormal pap? Did your hpv go away or did you have to have a LEEP?
Thanks - I'm asking because I know someone who may have to go through this.
positive hpv and negaitve pap is not unusual. thats what i got the first time i was tested. the hpv test is for hpv. and the papsmear is to test if your cells are normal. because your cells are normal the hpv has not yet effected them and tried to turn them cancerous, which is why you have been put on a six month recall. when you go back to get your next pap they will re test for hpv and do another papsmear. if your cells are unusual at this point they will want to do a cervial biopsy (which is kinda paiful) to test for precancerous cells. they will probably keep you on a six month recall for two years or so to check if you still have hpv, and if it is not going away.
best of luck, and i know from experience, waiting for that next pap is gonna feel like forever.
