Should I be panicking or stressing the situation?

On July 15th I got my pap smear results and came in Positive for HPV 68. I am not quite sure what 68 means since I cannot find anything specific in the normal human language that explains it. Doctor told me I have to go to my Gyno in 3 months to get retested. Should I be extremely concerned? I am literally going crazy here and I don't know what to do or think? Please Help

Somebody else will give you a more detailed answer but basically you do not need to worry. Getting HPV is a fact of life and around 80% of people will get it at some point in their lifetime. Only around 10 - 15% of people have any health problems with HPV and those are usually ones who do not have regular paps to check for any cell changes. For now practice safe sex and keep going to regular pap check ups.

You can go to several web sites on hpv that give numbers and what kind of hpv they represent. This might be useful information.

Don't worry like coljac29 said it's very common and normal. It is very usual that the Dr would ask to re test you in 3 months, because the changes are so minor no treatment is necesary. If in 3 months it has got worse they may decide to treat you, depending the severity
