HPV

Hello Dr.
I got my test done for HPV  and my doctor told me I have it, but that I have no abnormal cells. My questions is can I transmit the virus to my boyfriend even though I have no abnormal cells. If so what are the symptoms, also my doctor told me that HPV does not go away is that true?

yea it will always be with you. it s virus and they are life long. the dr said you have HPV but your pap smear are normal right?.... so basically your body has made the virus lay dormant.( or clears it on it own) but as me and cris said it will be with you for forever. but as long as you keep having normal pap smears i wouldnt worry about it.... yes you can transmit to your boyfriend still , but not to many effects on men. except warts and penial cancer which is RARE!

Yes, you can transmit it to  your boyfriend, You have the virus, regardless. There are different strains of hpv. I do know low risk hpv can cause warts. high risk hpv causes pre-cervical cancer. The hpv virus can clear up, but you will always be a carrier.
