So Confused!

I was diagnosed with HPV today. I'm completly stressed and confused b/c I have no physical symptoms. I'm 23 and have been sexually active since I was 17, but have always used protection. I told the guy I figured was most likely to have given it to me, but after reading more about it, I'm not sure anymore if it's him. If I've had a normal pap every year til this years and have only had 2 sexual partners for a year and half, it had to me one of those 2, right?

no that doesn mean it was one of them, it could have been the first person you ever slept with. there is NO way to tell who or when you contracted this. HPV can lay dormant in your system for years until it finally shows up on a pap smear. even after this you may start to get normal paps again, but the virus stays with you for forever.

Using condoms are not 100% accurate. You can still contract anything. If you have only had 2 partners most likelly it is between them 2. There are no test for guys to see if they have HPV. I was diagnosed in 2006, but I had high risk, which causes pre-cervical cancer cells on your cervics. Low risk can cause warts on men and women. The way I take it a guy doesnt know they have it unless the woman tells them. Hpv is actually common these days. Your virus can clear up, but you will still be a carrier for it. I know how you feel about being stressed out and confused. They have a lot of information about hpv on the net. I hope I helped some.
