Oh btw, if you still have it when you go for your pap, and if there is still puss present, they can take a culture of it to be tested for hsv (herpes) if you're worried about it. Although I really doubt it is that, but just a thought to clear your mind.

Since you can pop it, there's no way this is a genital wart. It sounds more like genital herpes than genital warts. But I really seriously doubt it is that either. Is it anywhere near hair? You can get pimples down there but likely it's just an ingrown or infected hair follicle, and yes I've had those. If I were you, I'd clean it gently with some peroxide or alcohol on a qtip, and just leave it alone until it heals. No big deal. There is also a type of cyst women can get down there, which occurs when a gland is blocked up, but it's probably not that either.
Your unclear possibility of hpv is kindof a big deal though. If you have hpv and are not having genital warts, you could have a high risk strain. Go for your pap and ask lots of questions when you follow up for your results. Hopefully you don't have hpv at all. But if you end up with a high risk strain, close monitoring is essential. Good luck! :)

it doesn't sound like pimple or hpv wart... stop scratching it or popping it out, you are just worsing it doing all this... wait to see if it goes away at its own... you are just adding more time to its healing process..

If it is a wart caused by hpv, you're very luck not to get a high-risk strain of hpv. You'll be able to distinguish between a pimple and a genital wart for sure. Genital warts don't have anything inside of them. What I mean is, you can't pop them.
So your dr said the abnormal pap MIGHT be caused by hpv, why did you never get a clear diagnosis?
In any case if it is a genital wart, it's not that big a deal. They can be removed and you can clear the virus out of your system with time and healthy living.
