hello okay so 6 months ago i had a papPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer and it came back abnormal so my dr said it might be hpv- im going back for another papPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer in 2 days... but a few days ago i noticed a bump down there so im just curious what it would look like if it was a wart..... what if its just a pimple? what else could it be ? thanks so much.. its such a stressful time right now WORRYING about the papPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer again...
If it is a wart caused by hpv, you're very luck not to get a high-risk strainStrains of hpv. You'll be able to distinguish between a pimple and a genital wart for sure. Genital warts don't have anything inside of them. What I mean is, you can't pop them.
So your dr said the abnormal pap MIGHT be caused by hpv, why did you never get a clear diagnosis?
In any case if it is a genital wart, it's not that big a deal. They can be removed and you can clear the virus out of your system with time and healthy living.
thanks for the reply!!! im pretty sure it was a pimple or something because yesterday it was just red but tonight it was kind of white so i sort of picked it with my fingernial and its not the same... so would that be a pimple? ive never had one there before....have u? haha sorry :P! i should look at it again and see what its lookin like haha
i hope to get a clear diagnosis on thurs when i go for my next pap... its such a scary process...... but thakns for the reply:)
ok so i just rechecked lol it was still a bit white so i tried the fingernail thing again and a bit of stuff came out but then the spot turned bloody but not bleeding....just the surface had some blood- pimple ?
it doesn't sound like pimple or hpv wart... stop scratching it or popping it out, you are just worsing it doing all this... wait to see if it goes away at its own... you are just adding more time to its healing process..
Since you can pop it, there's no way this is a genital wart. It sounds more like genital herpes than genital warts. But I really seriously doubt it is that either. Is it anywhere near hair? You can get pimples down there but likely it's just an ingrown or infected hair follicle, and yes I've had those. If I were you, I'd clean it gently with some peroxide or alcohol on a qtip, and just leave it alone until it heals. No big deal. There is also a type of cyst women can get down there, which occurs when a gland is blocked up, but it's probably not that either.
Your unclear possibility of hpv is kindof a big deal though. If you have hpv and are not having genital warts, you could have a high risk strain. Go for your pap and ask lots of questions when you follow up for your results. Hopefully you don't have hpv at all. But if you end up with a high risk strain, close monitoring is essential. Good luck! :)
Oh btw, if you still have it when you go for your pap, and if there is still puss present, they can take a culture of it to be tested for hsv (herpes) if you're worried about it. Although I really doubt it is that, but just a thought to clear your mind.
okay so i had my pap this AM - it was kind of rushed so when i go back for the results (in 4-6 weeks ahhh) im going to ask a LOAD of questions...
but if it was herpes or a wart or anything like that she would have said something right??
wouldnt another one come out within these few days or a week??
sorry for all the questions....any help will be greatly appreciated
