i had unprotected sex with a stranger a week ago i was tore up drunk and dont really remember it but i do know that i never got aff and for the most part i dident stay erect so i dont really think i was inside her for more than a few minuets i have never had sex before and was terrified from the second i woke up the next day that i may have contracted a std i have had no fever or headaches but when sometimes i have a pain in my groin like when you pull a muscle its not there all the time and it is not a strong pain at all i also have no rash or swollen nodes as far as i can tell either i do work construction so i was thinking that could be the cause of the slight pain as well and i come from north dakota and have been in new mexico for about two weeks now which is at a much higher elevation so i was curios what are the chances that this is hiv or another std or is it all in my head or stress caused i have had this on my mind for almost every second of every day since the incident happened i have even been in a car accident because i was so deep in thought about it  and i no that a hiv test would be useless at this point but im going to **** die of depression and anxiety before i can have the test so if anyone has input please post it

This is the HPV forum. You might be able to get more information on the HIV prevention forum. Note that the "Living with HPV forum" is only for people with a positive HIV diagnosis, and these sort of questions are not permitted there.

Here are 3 great resources for you:

The likelihood that you got hiv is extremely slim. It's up around the likelihood of getting struck by lightning. Hiv is a problem for homosexual men and drug users. The worry is unwarranted. People who are generally really strict about protection generally dont get stds. People who have never used protection, like me, generally get the stds whether the person claims to be clean or not. I got low-risk hpv, with visible warts. I have never used protection with a condom, and have been with 9 different girls. This puts me in a high risk category. But one time with a girl....did she say she was clean?
Even if not, i wouldnt sweat it.
The internet is lying to you. STD's, with an exception to HIV and high risk hpv really are not a big deal. The fear you have is something i had as well, but now that i have genital warts the fear is released. It was THIS that i was afraid of this entire time? Don't buy into the photos you find on the web, they look nothing like the real thing. Just relax nothing will happen quickly. Just be safe wear protection next time.
Later,
Jesse
