reddness

i have had unprotected sex with and old friend on dec2 and its now january and my penis is very red and sensitive. i called the healthdeptment and the nurse on the phone said it was probably nothingand to put some over the counter cream on it. i did as i was told,and some of the redness went away, but its still a little sensitive and a little discomfort when i urinate. cold this be hpv or herpes. im very terrified

Das is prolly right but get tested at 3 month mark for peace of mind and your safety. Follow up wid docs till you know what it is or nothing.

No. It's definitely not HPV or herpes.

HPV would either cause you no symptoms at all (HPV types 16 and 18) or genital warts (HPV types 6 and 11). It would be very difficult to mistake redness for warts.

As for herpes- herpes looks like a series of blisters, not generalized redness. The blisters would crust over. They are also extremely painful. You would know if you had herpes.

I would advise you listen to the nurse. If you are still paranoid, go directly to a doctor to get checked out. If I had to guess, you don't have HPV or herpes.
