should I be concerned?

Hi, I am 18 years old and was recently diagnosed with HPV and GW the beginning of August. I had a colposcopy done as well. My first outbreak was very small, I had about 6 warts total. One was big and kind of stubborn. They were removed with TCA. I just came to college at the end of August, three weeks ago 2 more had appeared, and I again had them removed with TCA. I was wondering if this is going to be a life long problem for me, and should I be concerned? I haven't had sex since before I found about this. I'm scared to give this to somebody else. I asked my doctor if she thought it was necessary to tell my partner, she said no because of how mild my outbreak is. Am I going to get any worse outbreaks, or is the first one you have the worst one? I feel like my life is over and I can't stop stressing out about this. It keeps me up throughout the night, and I'm worried I'll never be able to have a normal sex life again.

ACV = apple cider vinegar...and you buy it at the grocery store. :) it burns A LOT, and is painful, but it works. i used it on a small cluster of them, that had like 4 in it..and they have yet to come back. you put it on a cotton ball, and tape it to the area, and leave it on overnight. like i said, it's really painful and it stings, but it works. you do it for 3 days, but the third day, they should be black, and then after that, they'll just fall off.

i've been taking a multi vitamin, beta carotene, echinacea and goldenseal. i'm hoping that helps! i also ordered wartrol. do the outbreaks get worse? or do they lessen? i've had 2 so far. and each time, there's less and less. even though there was only 4-5 to begin with. like this last time around there was 3, and i used ACV, and they came right off. then there was 1 this morning, used the ACV and that one is on its way to becoming dead. i've read that 91% of cases clear in females, so i'm trying my best to stay positive. i was on another site, hpvforum.com, and the people over there are so mean and not helpful. i've been told countless times my life is over and to get used to the GW. i basically cried, i won't lie lol

Yes it is still possible to give them to him with a condom and no warts if you have just cleared the warts, which is why they say to wait at least 3 months before having sex. This is because the area such as the scrotum is not covered by a condom and the virus could still be active in your system. You could think of it the same as any of sti which requires antibiotics, just because you have taken the tablets it still takes time for your system to clear the virus and that is where the 3 - 6 months comes into play.
I suggest you speak to him about it because it could of been him that gave it to you?

i don't have any warts currently, i've had two small outbreaks. they weren't even that bad, and i haven't had a pap smear, i wouldn't have even known they were to be honest. i just know what to look for now i guess. is it still possible to give it to him when i don't have warts WITH condoms? i'm so new to this. and yes i do, i asked my doctor if she thought it was necessary to tell him, and if it was, obviously i would, she said it wasn't necessary (because of how benign the outbreaks were) BUT if i wanted to, then i could. i have yet to tell him, and still haven't had sex, even when i don't have any.

No Prob, i was going to let some other users answer your question as i have answered alot recently but il give yours a ago after the answers you have had from that guy.

Basically ,i am in a similer situation to you, i am 21 and at university. I went to the GUM clinic in the uk and was given warticon and has actually work on all warts apart from a small cluster which i have had frozen once to small effect anow using warticon again and go back in 4 weeks if they have not gone and will have them frozen again.

Firstly, you should continue to not have sex while you have warts no matter how big or small as either way you have the virus active in your system. Continue to get treatment untill the warts do not reappear for 3 - 6 months and then i would suggest using condoms and then after a year if you do not have an outbreak then the chances are you do not need to worry about genital warts again.

Do you currently have a partner did you say?

elpapichulo,

Please stop commenting regarding your concerns about hpv or GW from a one off exposure.
If you are that worried then go and speak to the woman in question and inspect her mouth yourself and see if you can see any warts.
The doctor has answered your question and in his 30 years of experiance has never seen gw occur from just oral sex. Therefore it is literally unheard of!

Your comments are going to do more harm than any good at all if you continue

Dr.Handsfield has actually answered your question many times on this site, if you go to the health chats, and then go to the archives, there will be one on STD's. somebody asked if it's possible to get HPV in your mouth through oral sex, he replied by saying the chances are very unlikely, the HPV virus, for some reason, has a hard time surviving in the mouth. i'm sure you'll be fine. if you have bumps in your mouth, it could be something else, and i would definately go see a doctor. keep your head up, it doesn't sound like you have hpv at all, and although its nerve wracking, its one of the milder sti's. i hope things get better for you

from what i've read, that is so rare, and it barely ever happens. have you spoke to a doctor? i'm only going by what i've read. the average incubation time for the virus is a couple weeks to 3 months, but not always. you can't get it through sitting on a toilet seat, sharing towels, or razors, etc. etc. have you had any warts? and thank you, i'm hoping i cleared it as well! i'm going to keep it posted and track my progress on the site, i go for another pap smear in november
