CHRONIC BACK PAIN LAPRASCOPIC SURGERY

I had a left salpingo oopharectomy 10/1/2008.  since then i have suffered from severe chronic back pain.  It's a constant dull ache. Here's the problem...MRI, Bone Scan, Xray's, Nerve conduction test, nerve blocking & anti inflammatory injections have NO affect.  pain is consistent and does not fluctuate in intensity...Muscle relaxers don't work either....

11/12/09-had a diagnostic laparoscopy and they found absolutely nothing.  what could be causing this?  i need help. my life has baeen destroyed because of this.

Hi Lou.  They have not proved nerve damage yet, but my GYN says that she is almost certain that's what I have. She has set up appointments for me with a Pain Specialist that will help diagnose and prescribe the right pain medication and a Neurologist to help find the damaged nerves.

I will tell you though, the very first thing I did was NOT go back to the same Dr. that performed the initial surgery. I found a new TOP RATED GYN. I would not ever in life go back for any reason to the original Dr. because he is the one that caused me to spen and entire year chasing a back problem I DID NOT have. He immediately told me that there was nothing wrong with what he did and that I must have some back issue.

Hi Cherie. WOW! Thank you! The thing that happened with the Neuro I saw was that he was a spine specialist. The original operating GYN (I have not seen him after he dismissed me a yr ago) led me down this rabbit hole into ORTHOPEDIC hell! The nerve conduction test was only performed in the area where I described the pain was presenting itself. I was and still am skeptical about the fact that they only tested a small area on my right low back side and my right leg & foot. I guess thinking back they were looking for some type of Siatic issue so I was not really tested beyond those nerves.

Id suggest a neurologist there is a uretro-sacral nerve that can be pinched or damaged during a hyster. Yet you have seen a neuro and had two neruo tests done.mhummm puzzling.

My other guesses of commonalities for this would be scar tissue or endo tissue maybe even fibroids. however the diagnostic lap should have picked that up.

We have a forum called rare symptoms. It is answered by a doctor. Honestly  would suggest posting this there . I am very sorry I dont have an answer I will research and see if I can find one.

Cherie
