hormones after a hysterectomy

After looking at several different posts I realize how clueless I am about all of this.  Unfortunately I just put faith in my Dr. and thought they would just know whats best.  I was put on the patch in the hospital immediately following my complete hysterectomy.  Vivelle was the name.  Didn't mix well with me felt very emotional all of the time and kept having heart palpatations so they put me on Premarin the lowest dose.  They have never checked any of my levels and I am still not feeling right and they scrug it off and say give it some time for your body to adjust.  Should I be getting my levels checked and be on something other then just Premerin?

At age 27, after years of pain and 20 surgery's I too put my "woman hood" in the hands of a doctor. A doctor that promised me I would feel 100% percent better after the hysterectomy. When I woke from the hysterectomy I over heard my doctor say I was nothing but her personal "lab rat", she knew it was not in my best interest but did it anyway's. After I let her know that I over heard her, she dropped me as a patient (I would have dropped her anyways). Because she dropped me though I was unable to be put on hormone replacement. Which is a huge mistake!

Because of my lack of hormones I now suffer from depression, severe insomnia, memory problems, concentration problems, heart palpations, migraines, poor complexion, anxiety, hot flashes, severe sweating, swelling of feet/ankles, chest pain, have had severe damage to my teeth and lost all of hair (has grown back).

YES, you need to have your levels checked and you should be treated by a menopause/hysterectomy specialist. Can I ask, is your doctor a regular gynocologist? I ask because most gynocologist's have no clue when it comes to menopause and hysterectomy's. Most will claim they do have a clue but unless they have the couple extra years of training/education, they are not trained to deal with these issue's. So instead of losing the the large amount of money you put in his wallet everytime he see's you, many of them will simply blow you off, say it's in your head and try to convince you that you are wrong. Do not let them convince you otherwise! I'm not sure how old you are but the younger you are, the faster you should seek help. Loss of hormones at a young age can and will lead to more severe problems later in your life.
Women need their homones, if we don't have any then it throws are whole body out of whack.
You might also consider call a Compound pharmacy, most of them have doctor's they can send you to and then they will help you get exactly the right type/amount of hormones that YOUR body needs. Most people have no idea what lack of hormones can and will do to your body, even after a woman has gone through natrual menopause her ovary's still make hormones. So again, yes you need to check your counts and be on hormone thearapy
Please let me know if you have anymore questions!
