Asucus could be either...alot of drs believe saving the cervix prevents bladdder prolapse....I also have no idea why your dr would have left cervix if you had prio cancerous conditions...makes not a bit of sense to me,,,but thats too late we must deal with now,,,
I know you are scared. You have the legal right to be a bit pushier with your dr...you could and I think should get another opinion right away !!!! Also why not ask your dr why he is not scheduling you for surgery to remove the cervix?
(((hugs)))) you can ask me anything , anytime,,,pm or on here.....Cherie
I'm to call Dr back Friday - they are running a second set of tests on the biopsy to see if it can be narrowed farther than ASCUS.
Is ASCUS cervical tissue from the upper-most portion (nearest uterus) as common as ASCUS cervical tissue from the bottom-most portion? If so I may breathe a bit easier as ASCUS on bottom is "watch and wait" and typically more associated with inflamation than cancerous conditions.
Wish my first Dr had taken cervix with the hysterectomy - have no idea why they would have left it given cancer previously.
Overall, being 39, having cancer before, and 2 1/2 years of on/off bleeding post-hyterectomy has me pretty scared.
ascus is atypical squamous uterine cells....begnine normally,,,what is your plan of treatment?
