Please get proper testing to determine if your uterus is the source of your pain. Bowel problems can easily be mistaken as gyn problems. So can bladder problems such as interstitial cystitis. There are studies about women undergoing hysterectomies because their interstitial cystitis (IC) went undiagnosed and then they're left with the (IC) pain and problems along with those caused by hysterectomy.
Hysterectomy is one of the most overused surgeries. Not only that, it is associated with a number of problems in the short and long-term. These include bladder and bowel problems as well as an altered figure since the pelvic structural supports / ligaments have to be cut to remove the uterus. Sexual desire and response are also common complaints since the uterus is key to orgasm for a lot of women. Plus the loss of the nerve structures at the base of the uterus and the shortening of the vagina reduces sensation / pleasure. Ovarian function is oftentimes impaired due to loss of blood flow. The ovaries of women with all their parts produce hormones their whole lives and are essential for every aspect of health - heart, brain, lungs, joints, eyes, skin, hair, etc.
Best of luck in getting proper diagnostics and treatment! Please keep us posted.
You are absolutely initialed to ask for a hyserectomy. But regardless if that's the reason u want one or not Id advise getting a pelvic, ultrasound and ct scan to find the reason for the pain. Getting a hyserectomy doesn't cover all of your bases.
