I am 53 and had a hysterectomy 20 yrs ago..about 5 yrs ago as soon as i went off premarin, sex became so painful that i would come up with so many reasons not to have sex..finally i read that using CORN HUSKERS LOTION (its a hand gel/lotion) for lubrication helped so i tried it and thank God it works good enough to keep my hubby happy. its worth a try..its better than other lubs such as astro glide..good luck!

Both these women know what they are talking about.
Let me just add that I am 47 and had a similar issue as you are having.
In addition to the pain, I had some little bleeding.
Turns out I had a cervical polyp which was easily removed at the GYN in office procedure.  No big deal at all.
However yours could be something more serious so PLEASE go get checked out and let us know how you make out!  :-)

Is there dr's that offer an income based scale for their services? They do that here so a visit may only cost $5. I hope you are able to find  a way to get checked out b'cuz Laney is right...pain during sex is not normal. That is also what made me seek medical attention. I just had surgery last week...a hysterectomy. They found adenomyosis in my uterus and that is what was causing my pain. I hope you are able to get some answers...you shouldn't have to be in pain. Please let us know how you are doing and what you find out. God bless...Lynn

Hi there,
Pain during intercourse is not normal. I had pain during intercourse also and that was the actual reason that sent me to the doctors. I ended up having severe endo which could be a cause, I also had a ton of fibroids in my uterus and lesions on both ovaries. You really do need to be seen by a doc. Are there any free clinics in your area? Could you call some of the state agencies and ask about free care? There has to be something you can do. I am sorry you are going through this. I hope you get to a gyn and figure this out. Take care and keep us posted.
