Hello, not a problem at all. I had written a post yesterday, but today it is not on here? Not sure if I didn't post it correctly or if it got deleted somehow...weird? Anyhow, these are very difficult decisions to make, think it through clearly and discuss it thouroughly with your doctor before making a decision, I would hate for you to regret something. Remember, most cases you hear of are the "bad" ones, people tend to not write about the "good" things that happen, you know what I mean? I also had HPV about 7 years ago, after my colposcopy I never had an issue. I have been told that now that they have started testing, more women come back positive than negative. Try to get to obsessed with worrying so much, but I know that is easier said than done. I hope your next few days are not painful/miserable ones. Take care.
So sorry it took me so long to reply. Truly thankful for your response. As I tend to stress. I was trying not to think about it all. I am glad to here your hysterectomy was so succseful! I really believe my problems are hormone related. I have always had the worst pms. For example I have been having symptoms the last five days not due to start for another 7 grrr. One week of normalcy usually is all I get. That being said I am pretty use to it lol. I have an appointment for another ultra sound on April 12th. My dr, says he will be able to tell me how well he thinks the ablasion would work then. Pretty much hating these options. I have hpv also so I had some cells removed along with my hysterascopy. If I don't get a return of bad cells. I think I will choose to just go on as I am. It ***** yes. But I am so afraid of worse with the abalsion or partial hystrectomy. It is so frusterating what us women have to go through. Oh how I long for the days of not thinking about my monthly!!!!!
Thank you so much again for atleast responding. Sorry it took so long to get back to you! Hope you are well.....
Hi! I am sorry you are stuck with this difficult desicion. I too never had an ablasion, but was given a choice between that and a partial hysterectomy. I was having very heavy painful periods, severly anemic, and just felt terrible. I had a fibroid. I chose the hyseterectomy, which now I am thankful for. Once they got in they found that I had endo which was causing most of my problems and my uterus was greater than 5 times the normal size. It had it done a year ago March 14th (I was 33). I never had any of the terrible side effects that people speak of, but I know they do exist. For me the recovery went well, no problems and I finally have a normal hemoglobin and my ferritin level is slowly creeping up!! Now let me say, I do have children and did not plan on having more. So, I feel for you having to make this difficult decision. I thought that if you have an ablation you cannot get pregnant? or you are at a very high risk if you do? I may have misunderstood? Have you been trying for a baby? If not, is it possible to try before you make this difficult choice...sorry that may be prying too much but before I had my hyster the only time I had felt fairly descent was when I was pregnant and not bleeding. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I wish you the best!
Thanks for your reply. I am so confused. I have read the most awful things about hysterctomies partial or total. I hope you have success truly. Evrything I read about all of these procedures seems worse than what we are suffering with grrr. I will continue reading and talking to my dr. I think I may just go on living with these horrible periods. I don't want to be a downer for you. Best of luck. Let me know how your surgerey goes. :)
Im sorry, i've never had either, but I was given similar choices as you. I have fibroids, really painful heavy periods. My dr. suspected endometriosis which he confirmed via laparoscopy, but incidentally found fibroids during that same surgery.
I chose a hysterectomy rather than fibroid removal, ablation, D & c, or any other procedure. I also have children so that's not a concern. Im 28, so my dr. wasnt to eager to do the hyst, but later agreed.
From personal experiences of family members and other women on other websites like hystersisters, those procedures seem to be rather short lived. Most women say the bleeding decreased for a few mos then returned back to its baseline (heavy and painful). the other hand some women were able to get pregnant shortlu after the procedure.
Good luck! I camt wait for my hysterectomy
