hysterectomy

by vetty67, Dec 27, 2010 06:00AM
I mean 43 years old without a period for an year with breast pain and severe itchy on my left breast.  I had a CT scan, Sonogram and a MRI of my pelvis and abdomen.  They found a small follicle in my right ovary but the doctor said it is normal for a menopause woman but my breast hurt.  I am also High Risk HPV, I had a colopscopy and was told to come back in 6months.
I just concerned about breast cancer, cervical cancer and ovarian cancer and I honestly want and Complete Hysterectomy.  I had a tubal ligation in 2006 and even my 4th GYN was a little concerned about me going through menopause a little early.  I forgot to mentioned I had a total thyroidectomy this year 8/2010 and my body and health has not been right since the surgery.  My face is thinning, I lost weight but I have been mataining the same weight of 182lbs for 2 months but I just don't look healthy.
Please help, I need good advice

Are they checking your thyroid levels on a regular basis? It sounds like your meds may need to be adjusted.   Remar

Are you asking if you should have a hysterectomy because of cancer risk? I'm not sure what kind of advise I can give you as far as having the surgery. You probably do know it's major surgery that can not be reversed. There's also a possibility that you would need hormones because you will be put in to surgical menopause. Are you having any problems now with menopause, like night sweats and mood swings? With you high HPV risk you should be getting paps done on a very regular basis. Are you taking any thyroid meds? Sorry about all of the questions but the more we know the better we can help you.  Remar
