Need Help ASAP

I am 30 years old and have been told I have a 10cc fybroid and a thick wall. I also suffer from massive pain in lowere and upper adomanial area and abnormal bleeding. I have my tubes tied so not planning on any more kids. I have been having these problems of bleeding and pain for over 6 months. I have tried meds in the past and no good. There is a history of hysterectomy in my family at a young age due to bledding abnormal and cervical cancer. My question is should I have one? Will it solve my fybroid and pain problems. Will I gain weight or loose my sex drive complitly? I need help on my dection for a hysterctomy.

Thanks

Hi,
Thats great. Good luck with your surgery. Make it very clear to your doc that you want to keep your ovaries. You are much too young to go through surgical menopuase if it can be avoided in anyway...Keep us posted

Hi there,
I know it is really confusing and scary to be facing surgery. I had a hyst/bso/appy 3 weeks ago for suspicious masses on my ovaries and multiple fibroids in my uterus. The thinking is, that fibroids generally shrink after menopause however not always. Estrogen will feed the fibroids and that comes from your ovaries. If you have your ovaries, then you wouldn't go through surgical menopause and after a couple months, the ovaries will regulate and you will be back to normal. A hysto will solve the fibroid problems. You should talk to your doc about all these concerns and he can guide you. I hope you get the answers you need to make this decision. Keep us posted.
