I'm 33 years old and had a complete hysto 15 months ago.  Everything is great except I have no sex drive.  Sex ranks up there with cooking and cleaning.  I am on hormone replacement with testostirone.  That does not help.  It is not painfull just not something that intrest me in the least.  My husband is not happy.  He tries to understand but he is man.  Anybody got an idea?

above poster has a great point check with your doc that prescribes meds again ask for a full work up...and yes I have an idea for you ..try estrogen again,,,it comes in many forms,,,a little bottle of spray that you "mist" on your skin,,lotion that you rub in,,,a vaginal cream,,,and more ....if the method of the patch bthered you and I can see how it would many with sensitive skin...try a different method...

with out even knowing you your post when reading between the lines indicated depression,,its normal after any surgery, but dealing with bipolar issues on top of it is exra challenging...if your bipolar meds are correct and likely they are,,its all hormonal..and that can be fixed,.,you may need to adjust your levels ( I had to change my levels once) but when you get them right its like throwing on a light switch you just feel better,,,pm me if you would like to talk in private...or repost anytime...also do know we have an excellent bi-polar forum here,...also check out the social forum its a great way to make friends, destress and have some fun....Hugs to you !!! If your gyno is happy with your current hormone levels, it might not hurt to talk with the doc that prescribes your bipolar meds.  I have a history of major depression and sometimes with an adjustment of my antidepressants, my sex drive would get a bit better.

With antidepressants and then trying to get hormones regulated, it could be affecting your sex drive.

Thanks for the imput.  After the surgery I tried the patch for a little while.  My GYN kept a check on my hormone levels and for some reason my skin was not absorbing the medication off the patch.  I took Primarin for several several monthes and he swapted it with Sintest for the 'drive' reasons.  As far as being depressed, I am bipolar and have been manic most everyday of my life.  I asked the doctor if my psych meds could be the problem but he said since I've been on them this many years it should not start causing a problem now.  Thank you again and if you can think of anything else I would like to know.  We've always had a good relationship and I think this may be causing some stress.

I have a good idea. that it sounds like you need some estrogen,,Do you feel that you could possibly be just slightly depressed?  I felt a bit like you describe until I took. or rather used a estrogen patch..Estrogen is available in many foms ,,lotions. body mist,,vaginal pellets,,,I like the patch its small acurate and easy to use...Please use bio identical..Premarin the "old-fashioned " estrogen is actually made from horses urine..Bi-Identical is the closest possible at this time to what your own body would make...I recommend Vivelle..Of corse you must discuss with your doctor what she or he thinks is best or you,,and then YOU decide...Estrogen helps with depression, vaginal lubrication and sex-drive,,it is also claimed to reduce or minimize bone density issues..

Pleas look into it...Best wishes..Cherie762
