Old Posts question again

Hi Emily & Claire,

I know you get asked all the time about old posts, and I do understand that the content may help others in the future.  But is there a way that MedHelp can make it so that we are totally unable to reply, while still being able to read them??  I think that would eliminate some confusion.  It's 2012, so maybe threads prior to 2010 could be 'locked'??

Just a suggestion, thanks,
Bee

Hi, Bee,

We do lock some threads, but it's done on a case by case basis.  In an older -- some might say "classic" :) -- thread that's still active, we may leave it open, though.  Many new members find their way here via search engines and we want to make their entry here as smooth and functional as possible.

But it's definitely okay to suggest to a new member that they start a new thread, especially if you think a new member's question will get lost.  I'll do the same when I come across this situation too.  Thanks for your suggestion!

Claire
