Impingement, discomfort, nerve pain, sore, pressure, and stinging have been added to the Pain Tracker. Thanks for the suggestions.

Sure, we can add "discomfort" to the pain tracker. We'll let you know when it's available.

Thanks,

Could a more generic pain describing word such as "discomfort" be added to the pain tracker?  Some individuals, (such as myself), have difficulty choosing the appropriate adjective to describe their pain.  Certainly the colored severity meter helps, but it might be helpful also to have a word that is just a bit more generic for pain that is difficult to describe.

Thanks for the suggestions and the clarification. We'll add impingement and RLS to the list of symptoms for the pain tracker and add "sore", "pressure" and "stinging" to the list of pain descriptions as well. We'll add "nerve pain" as its own symptom. We'll let you know when it's available.

Thanks,

On the subject, could "sore", "pressure like" and "stinging" be added to the pain descriptors?  Also, it would be nice to have a better descriptor for nerve pain than "shooting", as that's not quite right.

I would prefer it if the RLS could be added to the pain tracker if that is possible.  This would work best for me to keep as much as I could in one tracker.

Impingement is a pain in the shoulder - It results from pressure on the rotator cuff from part of the shoulder blade (scapula) as the arm is lifted.  It sticks and then releases very quickly when I raise my arm.

I just was thinking that none of the other pain descriptors adequatly explained what happens with my shoulder as it is a dual pain so to speak.  It includes both the pain of it being stuck and the snapping pain of when it releases.  Sorry that is the best way I can explain it.  Impingement is the medical term the doctors use.

GINMN - We can add nerve pain to the list of symptoms on the pain tracker. In another response to one of your suggestions, we recommended putting RLS into the sleep tracker. Would you prefer it in the sleep tracker or in the pain tracker? Can you explain what Impingement is?

Bornsickie - We already offer many of these pain types. When selecting your pain area, you can describe the pain in terms of aching, burning, constricting, cramping, gnawing, hypersensitive, nagging, numbness, sickening, sharp, shooting, spasm, stabbing, tender, throbbing and twisting. In addition, you can indicate if the pain is muscle pain or joint pain in the symptoms section. For any other descriptors, it might be best to write it down in your journal.

I agree. My pain types vary from area to area and in intensity... blinding stabbing pain, to neuralgia, there are fleeting pains, deep pains, topical pains (in your skin), muscle pains, joint pains…. And each pain varies.
Quick, fleeting intense, stabbing, doubled over pain, screaming pain, the list goes on and on.
Maybe a spot to enter your own description?
So, a few more would be nice, thanks for thinking of it!
