Thanks for the suggestion. We do have the ability to close out journals as a future enhancement, but it would likely only be something that MedHelp administrators can do. We'll let you know when it's available.
Thanks,

Let's say I want to post a journal as an article for the public to read, but I don't want people commenting on it. Or let's say I posted a well meaning article and people start hijacking it. I've seen that occur with quite a few good meaning journals and it's a shame. The same happens with photos too from time to time.
I know there's the feature to be able to delete individual posts, but that requires the author to be online to monitor their journal... Thing is as it's set the only way to stop comments is to make the journal/photo private. I guess you can also just copy the contents and make a new journal, but then you lose all the comments even the good ones.

I can see see this feature being abused...say a member posts an offensive journal and locks it.... But that's what the report button is for. There's no need to reply to flames.
My journals are set to private so others can't read my writings. My journal is very personal to me, and it is not meant to be shared with others. It is an opportunity to write down my thoughts w/o having to censor what I say because i know it will not be shared with anyone other than myself. Is that what you mean by "locking" journals?
If so, I just wanted to let you know you have the option of setting your journal to "private".
