Hi, I have been dealing with thrush since the end of September 2014. I have tried to nystatin a couple of times plus difulcan 150mg for 7 days over and over since the end of September and I am currently on diflucan 100mg for 30 days since January 29, 2015. I am about done with that and it is still there..I can't get it to clear up.
Just to let you know, I have lupus (sle), sjogren's syndrome, raynaunds, fibromyalgia, interstital cystitis, ibs, reflux, possible adrenal fatigue which I see my kidney dr. next month, kidney stone )fast forming crystals from kidney infection), I have 2 lithotripsys and currently several small stones in both kidneys that aren't blocking anything. In October I was in the hospital for celluitis and msra staff infection. A bout 3 months ago I was diagnosed with barrets . And a few months go I had some freezing on some basal cell carcinoma on my hands and arms. This last month I was on a chemo cream on face and neck to treat my basal cell carcinoma. And just 2 weeks ago had some squamouis cell carcinoma on my upper thigh and lower back surgically removed.
I am on alot of medications of course. Prednisone 10mg in am. I take about 14-15 different meds everyday. And I don't like it but only take what I have to. I have been dealing with my chronic illnesses for 26 yrs. now..And in March I will be 53. Any help would be great. Oh my family dr. said that if my thrush didn't clear up after this 30 treatment with diflucan then he was going to refer me to an infectious diease dr.. Oh at the moment my left parodid gland is painful swelled and hard. Even hurts when I brush my teeth when I brush the side of my mouth.

Hi Kathlene-did you get rid of fungus?my-you have troubles.I feel chronic illness too.I am sure I suffer from fungal prob-yrs of it- i cured myself 8 yrs ago naturally when i felt deathly ill and couldnt eat without a reaction..but now I eat like normal people do-and I suffer for it.I cant get a dx of it-as its a normal thing to have apparently unless it looks like a mouth full of it.Diflucan was prescribed back then-so 1 dr did let me try it.it didnt work at all-.so wondering how your outcome was and if you tried lamisil.I was having Sjogren issues once and cleared it with metal detox-cilantro/blue green algae.for months now- parotid type issues on right side-I think an infection learks.It did get better after using liquid  bee propolis to the area and massaging.!and my teeth hadnt been cleaned for a while-very harmful--it seems like a major pathway to illness!not sure if my fillings are a role-but sometimes i feel a pulling in molars along with my dystonia type problem-hope u r ok

I'm sorry you have had to go through all this. It is way too much for anyone. It may be your immune system that is having trouble with getting rid of the yeast. Is this oral or genital thrush? But, if it is Candida albicans, the most common yeast, it is often resistant to Diflucan (Fluconazole). If not the other yeast are very resistant to several anti-fungals. So it might be worth it to get it identified. Terbinifine (Lamisil) seems to work better than Diflucan if you can get it for your purpose. You may need a prescription for it. So I don't know if you want to go through having to go to the office to get the culture done and it may be C. albicans anyway. But maybe your doctor can tell you if they have Terbinifine (Laimisil) cream for thrush that he can have sent to the pharmacy.

For the clogged parotid gland warm compresses, sour candy or lemon etc. things to make your salivary glands work. Don't know if that will be good enough. But as long as it isn't totally blocked.  Let me know if you have any questions. I'll be back later. I'm going in for a root canal today.  I hope this helps.
