Hyperthyroidism caused by infection? - PIC

My doctor said that my sleep problems and anxiety is just that - anxiety. Althought after reading the wikipedia page of hyperthyroidism i think i might have it.
What i'm wondering about is my toe, could this be caused by an infection?

It could be a rash but best to check it out. Do you have any swelling in the neck that could be a goiter? Good to get your thyroid tested.

It does not hurt, but i have had it for many months. I'm going to ask for a blood test for antibodies and thyroid hormones. Thanks, will let you know

Hyperthyroidism can lower your immunity.  You toe does look infected. Does it hurt? I would have your doctor look at it as soon as you can. They can also test you for hyperthyroidism as well. It could be a Staph infection. But whatever the cause you need to go in. It is red and swollen and usually infections can be painful. But it doesn't look good. Let me know how you do.
