rabies

My mother is a healthy women. She was bit by a dog 20 years ago who was said to be immunized but it died after bitting her. She did not take any injections but untill now is absolutely fine. I wanted to know if there is any danger now and does she need to take any medications?

Besides rabies, another cause of animals biting and then dying could be a brain tumor, so perhaps that is what was wrong with the dog rather than rabies.  Rabies kills 99% of the time, and it is quick.
