Google "nosocomial infections".
gleening the info you posted, it is definately a concern. However C. Diff outbreaks are usually addressed quickly. There is no misjudging the protocol. disposable shoe covers.
These preventable casualties are an embarasment to the profession. Sorry for your loss.
My mum was prescribed anti-biotics whilst in hospital. It seems they new there was an infection but they totally misjudged its level of severity and missed the fact that it was Cdiff.
Thanks for the response.
C.Diff is actually part of the normal intestinal flora that helps regulate digestion, most gastroenterologists believe C.Diff is actually "caught" by a course of anti-biotics which kills off the normal intestinal flora, C.Diff(a bacteria) starts to take place of the normal flora and it starts to reproduce very rapidly. this then causes a buildup of these cells on the colon wall which leads to the formation of pseudomembranes(pus-filled pockets) on the colon wall. it all depends if she was prescribed anti-biotics at the hospital or at another time or if the bacteria was running rampid in colon for another reason. and im very sorry to hear of your loss. if you have any questions feel free to ask
