Things to worry about after a cut

Hello, I purchased a pair of gently used sandels  which ultimately gave me cut that is very deep in my toe. Should I be concerned about contracting anything considering that if the sandel was sharp enough to cut me, that it may have done the same to the previous owner?

Sorry you were cut. No anything that could have been on the sandles would have been dried out and would be dead so you couldn't get anything from them. But you could get a infection from the dirt and any bacteria that might be in the dirt. So keep the would clean and put some antibiotic topical on it and keep it covered. If it isn't painful, red or swollen you should be fine. But any infection wouldn't be from the previous owner.

Thank you so much for your help. I did appear to have a minor infection (sore, red, swollen) but it appears to be on the mend after some frequent care :) Thank you again!
