Hi,
How is your daughter? What diagnostic tests were done already? Fever of unknown origin (FUO) is an unexplained fever that persists longer than 1 week in a child. Aside from mono and CMV, other possible viral causes include EBV, enterovirus, HSV, helatitis and even HIV according to one study. ( ref: http://www.wjpch.com/UploadFile/001%20%20%2010-104.pdf)
Aside from blood and urine tests, additional diagnostic tests such as imaging studies and even nuclear medicine studies may need to be done to determine the underlying cause. Referral to an ID specialist would indeed very helpful in ruling out infectious issues. Take care and do keep us posted.
