What is it?

During this last week I have had severe pain in my jaw on and off, and starting on one side of my face and then going to the other side the next day. Jaw is flexible, movable, does not lock. Major pressure from my cheeks to the jaw. My wife has had similar symptoms as well. The only reason i even mention this is during the last3 months I have had three injuries to fingers on my left hand. September I cut my hand (not deep on rusty surface), rushed in bathroom used soap and water to clean wound, bandaged fingers, and for the next couple of days i used alcohol and peroxide and neosporin on wound. and the hand heeled up just fine. Late october I cut my finger with a knife but knife was not rusty, had been sitting in drawer for several months. Immediately applied alcohol and bandaged up, used neosporin and band-aid next day. Then at the end of November I poked my hand on a chair trying to repair it, poked on the wood, not metal screw. Cleaned wound and changed bandages regularly. had a tetanus booster for the first time in 16 years this past wednesday and shortly thereafter is when the jaw issues began. I'm puzzled. My Doctor and his PA say no on Tetanus, I would be in much worse shape according to them, and the nurse at the health department that gave me the shot said the same thing. I was also told the onset would have been relatively expedient. I'm just worried. Any input is appreciated. .

No fever, and pain seems localized to all of left side.

No streaks near wound, wound healed up cleanly.  Jaw pain has subsided, but I have had severe digestive issues (bloating and lots of pain on and off in the back, plus  a crunchy neck and back. Doctors keep telling me its not tetanus. No bloating

It doesn't sound like tetanus (Lock Jaw). But maybe you both have TMJ? Does the would look infected now, i.e red, painful, fever any red streaks etc.
I assume your wife didn't get any injuries? I don't know what else it could be other than bad teeth or why you would both have it.
