What kind of medicine would you prescribe here?

I have these symptoms for A FEW WEEKS.

- pain in lymph nodes (jaw, neck, next ear)
- pressure in right ear, itchy right ear
- head feels sick, almost like depersonalization, detached from reality

I come to conclusion, that I have infection, which explains paint lymph nodes. Maybe near Eustachian tube, which explains ear problems. Definitely somewhere in head, which explains head problems.

I prescribe myself antibiotics (Cephalexin 500mg, 3 times a day, for 10 days). But almost nothing changed, it didn't do the job.

Let's assume, that it's really "infection in head". Which medicine would be the best for treating this? What antibiotics would be the best? What is the standard medicine, that is prescribed in cases like this?

After looking at the post again I saw that it has been three weeks. You should definitely go in and see the doctors since you are not getting better.

We are not doctors on these forums. But I can try to give you some advice. It does sound like an ear infection possibly. Do you have a fever or sore throat? Sometimes a fever can make you feel "depersonalized" especially if it is a high fever.

It could be viral and thus the antibiotics wouldn't work. Also, it could be a type of bacteria that is resistant to the type of antibiotic you chose. Why did you treat yourself?  This antibiotic only treats some infections so it may not work on a lot of bacteria. We cannot proscribe antibiotics here. So it is best to see a doctor to find out if it is viral or bacterial.

Sometimes they will do a complete blood count and the white blood cells are high it may be bacterial.  Often the doctors tell you to try antihistamines instead to dry out the ear and nose. So that may be an option. But if you have a fever I would go in and see a doctor.
