help me... 11 mth old 17 days of fever

Please help.... my son is 11 months old, he developed a fever 101.7 - 104.7 for 17 days straight. They said he had multiple bacteria infections then put us in the hospital the first week, then on Monday. Said he had mycroplasma pneumonia, we treated that. Still running a high fever for another week we were on 2 other antibiotics... we choose to take him to another hospital that's trained with kids.. they found a slight ear infection started giving him amoxicillian which he was on the first week we started the next morning he woke up covered in a rash. All his test they have done come back with normal, high WBC or now its he needs iron. We have been fever free for 48hours, but he still isn't hisself, he is real fussy & isn't eating every good, he's lost almost 2lbs since all this started. What should I do if & when the fever comes back... as I know it will... anything will help, please give any advise u have, I'm at the end of my rope...

As of now he has been fever free for 4 days, running a low grade about 100.6 in the evenings. He is on antibiotics for an ear infection & I'm thinking that's the reason for no high temp. They have said he's anemia levels are abnormal as well. At this point they said that it started with lots of bacteria & viral infections then turned into mycroplasma pneumonia & then mono, the rash has come from taking amoxacyllian with mono.. problem I'm having with that is none of it adds up... we started on amoxacyllian when it all began.. then to rocefin (3 doases) which from what I've been told that should get rid of anything, then to amox & a steriod. & then 2 other antibiotics... I heard the lab tech say that he was positive for the mycroplasma pneumonia, but he was tested for mono & it came back neg. We have seen the infectious disease doctor, but I don't think he did what he should have done because the hospital was saying he wasn't running fever... They were taking it in his ear & finially after 3 times & he was running 103.7 did someone listen to me that taking it in his ear wasn't giving an accurate reading.. How old is your daughter? I pray were not still going through this in 3 months.. Has she ran fever the whole time? Or off & on? Please keep us updated... We will keep her & your whole family in our prayers as well. My son is a gift from God, According to science he wasn't supose to be born, (tube tied & one ovary) the pregnancy alone was horrible & he was early, but he has been a fighter & we will get through this too. God is our strength...

Have you found anything out? we are currently experiencing very similar symptoms with my daughter but her symptoms have been recurring for 3 months now. Monthly she will get bad rash, then fever and sometime staph infection and sometime ear infection. we are being sent to an infectious disease dr bc her pediatrician couldn't tell us anything. many of her labs have came back abnormal including her esr, sgot, anemia levels, bun, creatinine...just to name a few. I know how frustrating this is but keep God within reach and he will see you thru this. Also just my opinion, i would ask to be referred to a specialist. Good luck and hope to hear back with some updates as how your son is doing. We will keep him in our prayers.
