inability to stay warm and chills

I have been having chills, inability to get warm, very sleepy,  for about 4 weeks now.  i have been  to the doctors and to the hospital with no luck.  They did all kinds of tests but came up with nothing.   The only pain i have is a tooth and the dentist said that it would not be giving me these symptoms even though i need a root canal done.  I don't know where to turn next.  Very weak.  I am on a Z-pak for the tooth for 4 days now but nothing is happening.

They did numerous tests.  My blood pressure was 77/41.  They did a cat scan of my sinuses, face and head.  x-ray of my chest.  Blood tests.  bun urea was low and alkaline phosphate was low.  They did a urine test and culture which were normal.  besides chills and inability to stay warm, i have been sleeping a lot more.  Sometimes i sweat and my heart races.  I have lost 58 pounds without trying in the past 1 and a half years.  They can't find anything.  Very sick.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
What initial diagnostic tests were done and what other symptoms are present? I understand your concern regarding your inability to stay warm and chills. Aside from exposure to a cold environment, viral and bacterial infections such as bacterial gastroenteritis, infectious mononucleosis, pneumonia, strep throat and urinary tract infections such as pyelonephritis may be the underlying cause. If it persists, it  is best that you have this evaluated further for proper diagnosis. You may benefit from a referral to an infectious disease specialist also. Take care and do keep us posted.
